1 . Erasmus Bridge

This is probably the most photographed landmark in Rotterdam. Also called “the Swan” by the people of Rotterdam, the Erasmus Bridge crosses the Nieuwe Maas river in the centre of Rotterdam. Completed in 1996, the 802-meter long cable-stayed bridge has a single 139 meter-long, asymmetrically bent steel pylon and it connects the Kop van Zuid area to the north side of the river.

The cube houses, built in the seventies are still one of the favorite places for foreign tourists. They are also called pole houses or tree houses due to the fact that they are shaped like a tilted cube on a pole.

3 . Hotel New York

As the former headquarters of the HollandAmerica Line, Hotel New York is the place where, at one point in history, thousands of emigrants left for North America in hope of a better life. It is now home to a popular restaurant and hotel in one of Rotterdam’s nicest areas.
