The Swapshop, a clothing exchange shop, is opening a second location in Rotterdam on Saturday, March 7, at Oude Binnenweg 113, an area known as a vintage paradise. This means that Rotterdam residents will soon be able to swap clothes at two locations in the city. At The Swapshop, you can hand in old clothes, shoes, and accessories and receive swaps (points) that give you a 50% discount on items in the store.
Founded in 2018, the store has grown from small swap events to multiple physical locations and national events. The new 200 m² store on two floors was previously used by Owned, a pilot store for second-hand clothing that is now passing the baton to The Swapshop. Co-founder Monique Drent emphasizes that with this large store, she wants to make swapping more accessible to a wider audience.
The collection changes quickly and there is a permanent sale with items priced at €3 or €4, making it an attractive shopping destination for sustainable fashion in Rotterdam.
