The Heilige Huisjes festival in Rotterdam is an urban discovery tour of unique places of worship. From churches and mosques to temples and synagogues, step inside places that normally remain hidden and see the city with new eyes.
Rotterdam’s religious institutions (“sacred houses”) have developed a varied and modern program of events that appeals to all ages. Visitors can look forward to a wide range of activities, including an art exhibition focusing on churches from the post-war reconstruction period, a unique sleep concert, creative painting workshops, and live music from local choirs, pop artists, and jazz musicians.
In addition to the activities within the places of worship themselves, the festival also organizes special guided tours. These are provided by partners such as City Safari and ‘t Gilde.
